HIS-STORY
Graduation exams over! Raman shouted. So what next? He asked
me. After a pause, Kumar replied let’s do some part-time job. The idea was
good. Kumar, always wanted to earn his own money, rather than depending on his
parents. He was from a middle class family and was good at studies. He took
active interest in sports, particularly cricket and football. The city of Joy,
Kolkata provided the perfect platform to showcase his skills. He looked smart
and was a big hit with the opposite sex, but he was single. May be, he was
waiting for the right girl to meet. He
and his friend Raman got a part time job in a petrol bunk selling Pepsi during
the summer vacations. It was a contract job for two months and they would be
paid Rs.3000 per month. This was big money for both of them and they we given
the date and time to join. Kumar was particularly happy with the extra income.
He used to give English and mathematics tuitions and make around Rs.1000 per
month.
He reported to the Dalhousie area in charge at sharp 9 am.
Kumar was always punctual and this was because of his parents’
upbringings. He was a firm believer in
God and made sure that every week he visited the Kali temple in Kalighat, which
was close to his home. Before joining this part-time job, he went and offered
prayer to the Goddess. Kumar was very close to his mother and he had planned to
gift a sari to his mom, once he gets his first salary. With lots of dreams and
plans, he arrived on time. He had to cross the high traffic Dalhousie road to
enter the petrol bunk. Suddenly his eyes fell on a girl, who was wearing a
bright yellow and red colored Salwar suit. Kumar could not take off his eyes
from her. He crossed the road, keeping an eye on the girl and entered the
petrol bunk. He shook his hands with the manager and the manager introduced him
to the girl. Kumar shook hands and she introduced herself as Anuradha. Kumar
could not take his eyes off her and he knew it had happened to him. Yes, He was
in love and it was love at first sight. The manager called both Kumar and
Anuradha and explained the job to them. They had to wear the company T-shirt
and speak to customers who enter the petrol bunk and given them a sample to
drink and take their name and other details. The day started well for Kumar and
Anuradha and for Kumar the day ended faster. It was 6.30 pm and time to say
goodbye to Anu, whom he loves so much. Anu was a Marwari and kumar a South Indian. Will this love story take off?
